About Us

HISTORY

Asian American Health Coalition (AAHC) was established in 1994 as a forum and a convener for rallying community resources to reduce the widening health disparity gap faced by a rapidly growing Asian populations residing in the greater Houston area.   AAHC became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2001 and created HOPE Clinic as a volunteer-run, non-profit community health center providing culturally and linguistically competent care for Houston’s underserved and isolated Asian communities. In 2012, HOPE Clinic became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and currently operates three clinics serving residents of all ethnic backgrounds.

AAHC programs and initiatives promote healthy living and increased access to a continuum of care for the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities.
